What’s Happening, Honey? | Ep. #52 | So Gassy

Ep. #052 - Welcome back to a wonderful Tuesday! We recall another day taking the kids to an amusement park. Our middle monster is at it again when left unsupervised for less than half an hour. We get cornered and caught outside in a conversation with an awkward neighbor. We get a jump scare from a child behind a chair. A good samaritan gets the raw end of a deal with an ungrateful raccoon. I learn about a different type of “mobile home” from Bekah’s commute back home. I rant about unsportsmanlike parents in kids competitions, sometimes putting down other kids in the process. We discuss potty mouths in public and how our kids will likely defensively curse. We chat about how some unhappy people just love being difficult and arguing other people in public. We discuss a new meatless cheeseburger from Burger King overseas that is just cheese. Bekah crop dusts an unsuspecting Walmart employee. My efforts to catch Bekah up on good shows and movies continues as we discuss the first episode of The Sopranos and Bekah makes predictions. We try to make initial plans for Bekah’s upcoming 30th birthday.

What’s Happening, Honey? | Ep. #51 | Honorary Alzheimer’s & the Hybrid Minivan

Ep. #051 - Another week in the books and as always it can’t just be a peaceful boring one. First birthday parties, parents visiting, work was crazy…. But wtf is new about that, we just roll with the punches here! Bekah recalls the nerves she felt at the time when she first met my mother when she came down to meet our oldest kid. I may get demoted from my podcast role. I reject ALL razor companies, since I don’t shave at all. I train Bekah in Portuguese so she can go to the Brazilian super market and get some goodies, she fails… My mother came to town and things as they do, went chaotic. Fun times!
We also view a list of AI generated Americans by states, as imagined by Europeans. And some of them were not very far off from the stereotypical truths. We don’t quite agree with the AI NJ drawing, and Bekah retells a story about her first experience in a NJ Starbucks, We discuss how the experience in stores is greatly different up north than it is down south in the Bible Belt. Small talk still sucks, and even the people who refuse to admit it don’t really have the time for it either. I get annoyed again at the time I tried to be a good human being and giving a homeless turd actual food. We discuss a pretty gross “adult model” who jiggles a LOT; and of course she calls her offerings from a “menu”. We chat about the reality TV side of MTV’s “Parental Control” and “Bully Beatdown”. We also learn that more than half the beaches in the U.S. are shitty, pun intended.

What’s Happening, Honey? | Ep. #50 | Not a Good Morning Sleep

Ep. #050 - Busy birthday party weekend (the human growth is a year old)! We rented a bounce house and watched little “American Gladiators” for quite a while. Everybody loves a sandwich platter at a birthday party. Our middle kid continues being a random crazy kid. We talk about an unconventional method of potty training. We enjoyed a completely legal fireworks display and I won the day spending a lot of money on sparklers and poppers. Some people have no fun in them at all and become fun narcs during the 4th of July. Some dummy super glues her eye shut, and we laugh about it. I retell a story of how trying to speak Portuguese to get out of a conversation went wrong (never invite the vampires INTO your house). How I try to discourage religious solicitors from coming back to the house. I retell a story about how I almost got tricked by an odd buddhist monk as I waited for Halal. We finish watching a video of a crazy lady that’s way too old to be building bunkers in planes have a meltdown.

What’s Happening, Honey? | Ep. #49 | Buh-Buh Buh-Butt Drugs!

Ep. #049 - We’re back again with a pre 4th of July celebration. We have driven to fireworks stores and are ready to blow some shit off. Bekah recounts their recent beach trip and more nonsense from our kids (our middle kid avoided “piranhas”). I think I have a great idea to avoid losing space in my bed to our kids during the middle of the night. We’re still in awe that our picky eater likes sashimi. We talk about having to discipline a rude toddler and more tales from our middle monster.
We also chat about a large crack in a roller coaster we’ve recently ridden, and how we don’t really know what kind of daily checks these rides actually get. We reminisce an odd goofball that made Bekah and the girls feel uncomfortable at the amusement park. I was informed about the “Amazon Review Killer”; and will be doing more research this coming week. We discovered a hilarious not self aware local commercial and may have a new furniture store to visit. Chuck Testa shows us the magic of “taxidermizing” the most life-like dead animals and shooting them awkwardly for a commercial. We also may have found the best pharmacy in the world with a catchy jingle to go along with it. And we wrap up with a story revolving around an entitled customer that behaved like a sneaky, cheap-o, brat.

What’s Happening, Honey? | Ep. #48 | Haunted Doorbell & Sasquatch Impregnation

Ep. #048 - This week’s episode we catch up on everything since Father’s Day. We tell a story about our haunted doorbell in the middle of the night and how everything is falling apart, we talk about our dangerous middle child who’s already a troublemaker, a woman in Shelby NC claims she was impregnated by Bigfoot, our middle child shuts down a stranger trying to play, how there are too many similarities between kid and dog parks, and how parents kinda suck and need to be more alert to what their kids are up to in public.
We also chat about how our middle kid noticed her baby brother’s “butt” looks different than hers, how she likes to hang out and chat at the worst moments, the joys of playing with an angry toddler and her ice cream shop, her strategy to not get in trouble by asking us not to look at her, and how we divide and conquer in order to have some adult time of our own.
